Better Ally Series: Organizing Inclusive Meetings and Events
SURPAS JEDI Committee invites you to the Better Ally: Organizing Inclusive Meetings and EventsJoin us to learn about and discuss the inclusive design of meetings and events. These approaches apply to the smaller settings of lab meetings or more significant events like workshops, seminars, and conferences. We’ll be thinking about inclusivity for all people with disabilities, pregnant/breastfeeding people, immunocompromised people, people of all religions, and others. We’ll also discuss approaches to broaden the diversity of invited speakers. One of the participants will share her recent experience organizing a conference and the communication, software, and fundraising approaches she used to make the conference more inclusive.
