SURPAS Priorities 2024

Theme 1: Housing Affordability

  • Convert transitional housing into a permanent program
  • Improve access to Oakcreek (modify policies)

Theme 2: Postdoc Mentoring and Career Development

  • Postdoc peer-mentoring and improving mentoring for faculty
  • LinkedIn Premium for Job-seeking Postdocs

Theme 3: Postdoc Benefits

  • Increase income threshold for Postdoc Childcare aid to be more commensurate with Faculty and Staff
  • Increase Family Grant Program from $10k to $15k
  • Increase Childcare Tuition Reduction Program from 5% to 10%
  • Full Dental coverage with orthodontic care
  • Retirement benefits (i.e., matched 401K)

We face many challenges*

1. Affordability

2. Equitable access to professional development.
