Beyond the Bench is a SURPAS community initiative that celebrates the diverse talents, hobbies, and experiences of Stanford postdocs beyond their research. Whether it’s cooking, music, art, wellness, photography, language, career development, or something entirely unique, we invite postdocs to lead interactive sessions and share what they love with the community.

Parenting and Coffee Event
The SURPAS Family Committee welcomes all Stanford Postdocs to their weekly Parenting and Coffee Event! This is a great event for parents and also for individuals considering starting a family during grad school/postdoc to ask questions and build a parenting community.

SURPAS Bechtel International Badminton Tournaments
SURPAS Sports Committee is organizing a Badminton Tournament with Bechtel international center every Wednesday through May and early June between 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center (AOERC) Courts. Tournament options include men’s/women’s singles, men’s/women’s/mixed doubles, and a beginner track teaching technique fundamentals and rules.
