Applications Open: Certificate in Critical Consciousness and Anti-Oppressive Praxis

A new program, the Certificate in Critical Consciousness and Anti-Oppressive Praxis (CCC&AOP), is being offered to Stanford grad students and postdocs, specifically targeted to individuals in STEM. This certificate program seeks to help participants develop practical steps towards an equitable future in research and society through intergroup dialogue workshops, education, and a praxis project. Learning Goals:

  1. Critical understanding of participant’s identity and positionality

  2. Exploration of current and historical oppressive infrastructures

  3. Development of a culturally competent praxis for transformative and inclusive change

The curriculum is comprised of the following components:

  • 6 Workshop Series in Fall 2019

  • Journal Clubs in Spring 2020

  • Courses

  • Elective

  • Praxis Project

Timeline:

Fall 2019 – Spring 2020/Fall 2021
