AIMS
About Us
SURPAS AIMS is dedicated to supporting postdoctoral scholars keen on transitioning into industry roles. Our mission centers on providing guidance and fostering a supportive network for postdocs interested in entrepreneurial endeavors. Through mixers, seminars, and industry talks, we aim to facilitate seamless transitions from postdoc to industry. Led by the SURPAS AIMS Committee, our activities aim to create a dynamic environment for those with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Why it matters?
Navigating the transition from academia to industry can be daunting for postdoctoral scholars. SURPAS AIMS recognizes the importance of providing support and resources tailored to this career path. By offering guidance, networking opportunities, and industry insights, we empower postdocs to explore and excel in non-academic career paths. Our initiatives aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ultimately contributing to the success and fulfillment of postdoctoral scholars.
What are We Working on?
Stay tuned for our upcoming events! We invite nominations for entrepreneurs and industry experts to engage with our postdoc community. We understand the time constraints of postdocs, therefore, involvement in our committee can be flexible, with minimal time commitments. While our chairs primarily organize events, we occasionally seek volunteer assistance from postdocs. We’re compiling a list of willing volunteers whom we can call upon for specific events. Additionally, we welcome new ideas and suggestions from the community. Connect with us on Twitter (@AIMSstanford) to stay updated on our previous events and upcoming activities.
How Can You Get Involved?
Whether you’re a postdoc eager to explore industry opportunities or an industry professional interested in sharing insights, there are various ways to engage with SURPAS AIMS. Nominate an entrepreneur or industry expert, offer your assistance as a volunteer, or share your ideas with us – we’re here to support you on your journey from postdoc to industry professional.
